Karlsruher SC wraps up Austrian training camp after two test matches

Karlsruher SC spent a week in Austria with a pre‑season training camp that featured two friendlies against Japanese top‑flight team Shimizu S‑Pulse. The first match ended in a 1‑3 defeat, while the second was halted by bad weather with the score at 1‑1.

Coach Maximilian Senft described the week as "sehr energisches Coaching" and noted a quirky incident when a cow briefly blocked the team bus. Players also took part in off‑field activities such as mountain‑cart rides, a mountain‑bike tour, and interacting with donkeys. Mid‑camp, new signing Rafael Pinto Pedrosa joined the squad, and captain Marvin Wanitzek practiced free‑kick situations.

The camp concluded with the team returning home to Karlsruhe, finishing preparations for the upcoming season.
