Karnal: One dead, 20 injured as devotee vehicle hits high-voltage wire
A fatal accident occurred near the Gharaunda mini bypass in the Karnal district of Haryana during the midnight between Sunday and Monday. A canter carrying approximately 65 to 70 devotees struck an 11kV high-voltage wire, causing the vehicle to catch fire.
The incident resulted in one death and left more than 20 people injured. Witnesses reported that the low-hanging wires made contact with the vehicle, causing flames to spread to passengers sitting in the rear. The injured were transported to local hospitals, with some being referred to other facilities due to the scale of the casualties.
