Karnataka BJP leader slams Tamil Nadu assembly resolution on Hanur encounter
Karnataka BJP leader and Leader of the Opposition, R. Ashok, has criticized a resolution passed by the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly regarding an encounter near Hanur in Chamarajanagar district. The resolution addressed the deaths of three alleged poachers during the incident.
Ashok stated that the matter is connected to Karnataka and should be resolved within the state. He expressed concerns regarding reports that the Tamil Nadu government intends to provide compensation of 15 to 20 lakh rupees to the families of the deceased, noting that the individuals involved were Karnataka voters. He further warned against turning the incident into a linguistic issue between the neighboring states.
Additionally, Ashok raised questions regarding the conduct of the Karnataka Forest Department and accused the state government of attempting to suppress facts related to the encounter.
