Karnataka BJP MLA’s daughter booked for allegedly assaulting woman cop

Police in Mandya district, Karnataka, have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Aishwarya, the daughter of BJP MLA B Suresh Gowda, following allegations of assaulting a woman police sub-inspector at a temple.

The incident occurred at the Sri Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy Temple during Bhima Amavasya celebrations. According to police reports, the dispute began when Aishwarya attempted to enter the sanctum sanctorum through a VIP queue. When a sub-inspector, Savitha B. Police Patil, requested that she wait due to the large crowds, an argument ensued. The sub-inspector alleged that Aishwarya identified herself as an MLA’s daughter, used abusive language, and struck her on the head.

Kyathanahalli police have invoked several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges related to assaulting a public servant, causing simple hurt, intentional insult, and criminal intimidation.

MLA B Suresh Gowda has issued a public apology for his daughter’s conduct, stating that anyone at fault must face legal action. Aishwarya has also filed a counter-complaint against the police officer, and authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter.
