BJP leaders demand ministerial removal in Kerala and protest FIRs in Karnataka

In Kerala, a BJP delegation led by P K Krishnadas met Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar to demand the removal of State Youth Affairs and Sports Minister O J Janeesh. The party alleges that Janeesh, who also serves as the state president of the Youth Congress, was involved in a criminal conspiracy regarding a black-flag protest against Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Kollam. The BJP claims Janeesh admitted to instructing the protest, which they argue constitutes a violation of his constitutional oath.

In Karnataka, BJP leaders have threatened statewide protests following the registration of First Information Reports (FIRs) against party workers. The disputes center on the submission of Form-7 applications, which are used to request the deletion of names from electoral rolls. Former Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa and Karnataka BJP President B. Y. Vijayendra accused the state government of exerting political pressure on the police to harass party members. They have called for the withdrawal of these cases, alleging that the police are acting under the influence of Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar.
