Karnataka Cabinet Expansion Expected Thursday After Congress Approval

Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar of Karnataka is set to expand his state cabinet on Thursday, following final approval from the Congress high command in New Delhi. The reshuffle aims to address regional, caste and gender representation, with proposals to appoint about 75% newcomers and to create two additional Deputy Chief Minister posts for Lingayat and Scheduled Tribe leaders.

The swearing‑in ceremony will be attended by senior party figures, including Rahul Gandhi and AICC General Secretary K. C. Venugopal. Existing Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah have also been consulted as the final list of 14 new ministerial berths is finalised.
