Karnataka cabinet expansion talks delayed as Congress high command meets in Delhi

KPCC President B K Hariprasad said discussions on expanding the Karnataka cabinet have been postponed for a day or two, stating, "We have just discussed a few matters… It has been postponed for a day or two."

Chief Minister D K Shivakumar and Hariprasad travelled to Delhi to hold negotiations with the Congress high command. At present, 24 MLAs and 12 MLCs are stationed in the capital, with another five MLAs and two MLCs expected to arrive, all lobbying for cabinet berths.

The existing Shivakumar ministry comprises 14 members, including Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara, Home Minister Priyank Kharge and Urban Development Minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah. A final list of ministers is anticipated after the pending high‑command meetings.
