Karnataka Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar finalizes Cabinet portfolios

Karnataka Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar has finalized the portfolio allocations for his Cabinet, distributing responsibilities across 23 ministers. Shivakumar will retain control over several critical departments, including Finance, Cabinet Affairs, Personnel and Administrative Reforms, Intelligence, Information, Law, Justice and Human Rights, and Parliamentary Affairs and Legislation. He also maintains oversight of Agriculture Marketing, Town and Country Planning, and urban local bodies within the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) and Bengaluru Metropolitan Region Development Authority (BMRDA) areas.

Other key assignments include Zameer Ahmed Khan as the Minister for Housing, Ramalinga Reddy for Forest, Ecology and Environment, and U. T. Khader for Minority Welfare, Haj & Wakf, and Health and Family Welfare. Additional allocations cover sectors such as Social Welfare (K. H. Muniyappa), Higher Education (Basavaraj Raya Reddy), Primary and Secondary Education (Madhu Bangarappa), and Co-operation (Lakshman Savadi). The distribution aims to allow ministers to focus on specific administrative priorities across welfare, education, irrigation, and infrastructure.
