Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar marks 100 days in office

Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar marked 100 days in office with a series of policy announcements and a celebratory event at Vidhana Soudha. Shivakumar reaffirmed his commitment to the state, describing the milestone as “only the beginning” of his administration's journey.

Key initiatives highlighted during this period include the establishment of India’s first government-sponsored AI university, the introduction of AI education from Class 6, and the distribution of five lakh housing sites to landless families. Other measures include free bus passes for students, the recruitment process for 72,000 government posts, and the creation of a dedicated “Praja Seve” department for grievance redressal.

The milestone also serves as a political touchstone. While the Congress party uses the event to project unity—notably inviting former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to attend—the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has criticized the administration. BJP leaders have questioned the government's priorities, specifically citing infrastructure issues in Bengaluru and the proposed redevelopment of the Bengaluru Development Authority headquarters as examples of misplaced spending.
