Karnataka CM D.K. Shivakumar ties Hindu oath rituals to personal faith
Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said that the Hindu rituals performed during his oath‑taking ceremony reflect his personal devotion rather than a political statement, affirming respect for all religions. He emphasized that politics is not his priority and that individual faith is a private matter.
Shivakumar highlighted ongoing development in the Mallaghatta region, noting projects worth about Rs 35 crore, including a canal system, community hall and guest house for farmers. He reiterated a 25‑year history of visiting the Sri Gangadhareshwara Swamy Temple and the Kadu Siddeshwara Math, describing the area as a source of peace and happiness, and pledged continued support for the region’s lakes and infrastructure.
