Karnataka Congress Calls for CBI Probe into Ram Mandir Donation Row and Seeks Drought Relief

The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) met in Bengaluru and passed resolutions demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into alleged irregularities in the Ram Mandir donation trust, calling for the formation of a Special Investigation Team to identify and punish those responsible. The party also urged the resignations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, citing moral responsibility.

In a separate demand, the KPCC asked the central government to release Rs 10,000 crore as special drought‑relief assistance for Karnataka, citing deficient southwest monsoon rainfall, drying reservoirs, water scarcity, fodder shortage, unemployment and migration. The meeting welcomed the appointment of former chief minister Siddaramaiah to the Congress Working Committee, as well as the recent appointments of B K Hariprasad as state party president and D K Shivakumar as Karnataka chief minister, expressing confidence in the party’s future performance in upcoming elections.
