Karnataka government schedules winter legislative session in Belagavi

The Karnataka government has tentatively scheduled the winter session of the state legislature to take place at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi from December 7 to December 18, 2026. Chief Secretary Dr. Shalini Rajneesh has instructed officials to begin necessary preparations for the 10-day session.

Legislative Council Chairman Saleem Ahmed noted that while the dates are tentatively fixed, the official schedule remains subject to formal notification by the Governor. The session is expected to focus on issues relevant to North Karnataka. However, opposition parties, including the BJP and JDS, are anticipated to raise concerns regarding regional development, farmer distress, irrigation, and flood relief.
