Karnataka High Court grants divorce to actor Duniya Vijay

The Karnataka High Court has granted a divorce to Kannada actor, director, and producer Duniya Vijay and his wife, Nagarathna, ending a long-standing marital dispute. A Division Bench consisting of Justice D. K. Singh and Justice H. Shanthi Bhushan dissolved the marriage while ordering Vijay to pay Rs 2 crore as one-time alimony to Nagarathna.

The court determined the compensation amount by considering the couple’s three children, Nagarathna’s circumstances, and Vijay’s financial status within the film industry. The payment is required within two months, or it will incur interest at a rate of six per cent per annum.

Following the verdict, Duniya Vijay expressed gratitude to the court on social media, stating that the decision to consider the mental harassment he allegedly faced strengthened his faith in the law. He noted that he is accepting the order to protect the well-being and future of his daughters and to begin a new chapter in his life.
