Karnataka launches food safety QR system as Trump comments on Iran leader

In Karnataka, India, Health Minister U. T. Khader announced a major crackdown by the Food Safety Department to protect public health. The state is introducing a first-of-its-kind QR code system, allowing citizens to scan products and report defects or issues directly to the department for immediate inspection.

The initiative includes strict measures against e-commerce platforms for supplying toxic Datura fruits, resulting in the seizure of 2,100 fruits and the suspension of licenses for several companies. Additionally, the department is targeting hygiene in hotels and clubs, with plans to meet restaurant associations to address lapses found during recent inspections.

Separately, former U.S. President Donald Trump has commented on the status of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei. Trump stated in an interview that while Khamenei has not died, he was severely injured in a military strike, affecting his limbs and body. Trump suggested the Iranian government may be attempting to conceal the extent of these injuries while maintaining the appearance of his leadership.

Meanwhile, Iranian media released older footage of Khamenei to address speculation regarding his health and public appearances.
