Karnataka Lokayukta conducts raids over alleged disproportionate assets

The Karnataka Lokayukta has conducted a series of raids across the state targeting various officials in connection with alleged disproportionate assets cases.

In Mandya, police searched the residence and farmhouse of a recently retired hostel superintendent from the Backwards Classes Welfare Department. During the operation, officials reportedly seized gold, silver, valuables, and expensive liquor. Additionally, items intended for hostel children, such as books and bedsheets, were discovered stored at the individual's farmhouse.

In Kalaburagi, searches were carried out at the office and residences of a GESCOM Assistant Executive Engineer. Other raids conducted by the Lokayukta included the home of a retired BBMP assistant executive engineer in Bengaluru, as well as the residences of a district registrar, a municipal commissioner in Madikeri, and a first division assistant in Chikkaballapur.

Investigations into these cases are ongoing.
