Karnataka Minister accused of using profane language during water dispute

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA BP Harish has accused Karnataka Mines and Horticulture Minister SS Mallikarjun of using profane and abusive language during an interaction with local farmers.

The incident reportedly occurred when farmers from the Harihar region approached Minister Mallikarjun to request irrigation water from the Bhadra reservoir. Harish claims that when the farmers mentioned they were directed to the minister by him, Mallikarjun responded with an abusive outburst. Harish noted that the Chief Minister had previously indicated there was no water available for irrigation purposes.

Harish stated that he intends to follow party leadership protocols before deciding on official action. Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra has also publicly condemned the minister's alleged conduct.
