Karnataka Minister Announces Rs 2,000 crore Road Upgrade and Metro Plans for Bengaluru

Karnataka Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said a special grant of Rs 2,000 crore has been allocated to repair and resurface deteriorated ward roads in the five city corporations under the Greater Bengaluru Authority. Officials have been instructed to identify damaged roads, prepare cost estimates, issue short‑term tenders within two months and complete the work in four to six months, with priority given to dry‑spell construction.

Gowda also led a press conference at the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited office, joined by BMRCL Managing Director Ravi Shankar and Additional Chief Secretary Tushar Girinath, to discuss the ongoing Metro Railway Project and future expansion plans for the city’s rapid‑transit system.
