Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge directs prison product expansion and engages in political dispute

Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge has directed officials to enhance the production, packaging, and market reach of goods manufactured within state prisons. During the fifth meeting of the Karnataka Prison Development Board, Kharge emphasized the need for an effective sales strategy to make the board self-reliant and increase its income. The meeting also addressed inmate rehabilitation through art therapy, vocational training, and the establishment of de-addiction centers.

Separately, a political dispute has escalated between Minister Priyank Kharge and Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy. The disagreement follows allegations regarding a sting operation involving Siddaramaiah. Kharge criticized Kumaraswamy on social media, accusing him of demanding immunity for his associates while calling for investigations into others. Kharge stated he is willing to engage in dialogue if conducted respectfully but rejected Kumaraswamy’s approach to the matter.
