Karnataka ministers warned of potential sting operations

Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has warned state cabinet ministers to remain cautious regarding potential undercover sting operations. Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara stated the warning followed intelligence reports suggesting private agencies might be conducting such operations, adding that the move could be part of a conspiracy against the administration.

In response to these warnings, BJP MLA B. Basanagouda Patil Yatnal alleged that former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was previously “blackmailed and threatened” over a personal matter, which he claims led to Siddaramaiah’s resignation. Yatnal suggested that the pressure from a sting operation may have rendered the former leader “voiceless.”

The Janata Dal (Secular) has also criticized the government's reaction. JDS Youth Wing president Nikhil Kumaraswamy questioned the motives behind the warnings, suggesting that concerns regarding sting operations within the Vidhana Soudha imply internal issues within the ruling party.
