Karnataka MLA's daughter allegedly assaults police officer at temple

CCTV footage has surfaced showing a physical altercation between a police sub-inspector (PSI) and the daughter of a Karnataka Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) at the Arathi Ukkada temple in Srirangapatna.

The incident occurred on August 12 during Bhima Amavasya. PSI Savitha B. Patil, assigned to special security duty, allegedly was verbally abused, slapped, and threatened by Aishwarya, the daughter of Tumakuru Rural BJP MLA Suresh Gowda, following a dispute regarding temple entry permissions.

An FIR has been registered against Aishwarya at the Kyathanahalli Police Station under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Conversely, a counter-complaint was filed by Aishwarya alleging that the PSI abused her during the argument. MLA Suresh Gowda has issued an apology regarding the incident, stating his daughter was requesting permission to enter the sanctum sanctorum with her children when the dispute arose.
