Karnataka reports fatal road accident in Madikeri and targeted murder in Bengaluru
Two separate violent incidents have been reported in Karnataka, involving a fatal road accident in Madikeri and a targeted homicide in Bengaluru.
In Madikeri, a 26-year-old driver named Shahil was killed when a gas cylinder truck ran over him near the Mysore Road bus stand. Shahil, who was the sole provider for his family, was waiting early in the morning to pick up tourists to help repay loans taken for a vehicle. Local residents noted that the increasing number of rental bike services operating in the early hours may contribute to such dangerous traffic conditions. Police have detained the truck driver.
In Bengaluru, a medical shop owner named Suhail was hacked to death by assailants on motorcycles at a traffic signal near the Madiwala underpass. Investigators believe the attack was a pre-planned act of retaliation linked to a previous murder case involving Suhail’s brothers, despite Suhail having no criminal record himself. Police are currently investigating the motive and tracking the suspects.
