Karnataka: Seven arrested for illegal hunting in Yadgir

Seven individuals were arrested in the Yadgir range forest in Karnataka for alleged illegal hunting. Forest officials apprehended the group in the Bagulamadu area after discovering they were in possession of six firearms.

Yadgir Range Forest Officer Buranuddin confirmed that the suspects have been presented before a court for further investigation. This incident follows a period of tension in the region; approximately one month ago, three Tamil-origin men died during an alleged anti-poaching operation in the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary. That previous incident sparked an interstate political dispute between the leadership of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
