Karnataka weather: Rainfall expected in Bengaluru and south interior districts

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast varying weather conditions across Karnataka for late October. Bengaluru and several surrounding districts in South Interior Karnataka are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall and thundershowers, particularly during the evening and night.

Heavy rain accompanied by thundershowers may occur at isolated locations in Kolar, Chamarajanagara, and Mysuru districts. Other areas, including Ballari, Bengaluru Rural, Chikkaballapura, Chikkamagaluru, Mandya, Hassan, Kodagu, and Shivamogga, are also likely to see light to moderate rain.

In contrast, rainfall is expected to ease in the coastal, Malnad, and North Interior regions. Districts such as Bagalkote, Vijayapura, Raichur, and Yadgir are predicted to remain predominantly dry, though isolated light showers may occur. A developing cyclonic system over the Bay of Bengal is being monitored for its potential impact on southern India.
