Karnowski brothers clash over wPolsce24 viewership decline
Polish journalists and brothers Jacek and Michał Karnowski have engaged in a public dispute following a decline in viewership for the news station wPolsce24. Nielsen data indicates that in September 2026, the station held a 1.28 percent market share with an average of 71,400 viewers, representing a 5.2 percent decrease from the previous year and a 13 percent drop from August.
Jacek Karnowski, the editor-in-chief of wPolsce24, suggested the station might be the victim of a conspiracy regarding the data. In response to criticisms, he accused his brother Michał of focusing on lobbying and other business deals rather than the station Michał previously co-founded.
Michał Karnowski, who left wPolsce24 in late 2025 to join Kanał TAK!, countered by claiming the station mismanaged 30 million PLN in borrowed funds. He stated his departure was due to warnings about the company's direction and alleged he was ultimately forced out.
