Karol G and Anuel AA exchange public messages amid musical releases

Puerto Rican singer Anuel AA has sparked social media attention by publicly asking his ex-fiancée, Colombian artist Karol G, to unblock him on Instagram. The request was made during the promotion of his new single, ‘Vuelve’, part of his upcoming project ‘RHLM 2’. Anuel AA accompanied the message with a statement regarding his emotional depth, claiming, ‘It’s not that I’m a player, it’s just that I fall deeply in love.’

In a separate interview with The New York Times’ Popcast, Karol G addressed how her past relationships with Anuel AA and Feid have influenced her musical evolution. She noted that while her album ‘Mañana Será Bonito’ was closely tied to her breakup with Anuel AA, her more recent work, ‘No me arrepiento de sentir tanto’, reflects a different emotional stage following her separation from Feid. She explained that she intentionally waited several months after her split from Feid to release her latest album to allow for personal growth and to avoid immediate speculation.

Karol G also defended her musical style against accusations of cultural appropriation, stating that her use of genres like mariachi and vallenato stems from a lifelong respect for and immersion in those traditions. Additionally, her collaboration ‘BBY WOW’ with Judeline and Rusowsky recently reached number one on the Top Digital Latino International charts.
