Karol Linetty Ends Contract with Turkish Club Kocaelispor

Polish midfielder Karol Linetty and Turkish side Kocaelispor mutually terminated his contract on 22 July, with the player receiving a €200,000 settlement. The split follows a dispute over an extension clause that allowed Linetty to unilaterally prolong his deal to June 2027, which the club later found untenable and excluded him from its pre‑season camp.

During his brief spell, Linetty made three assists but failed to score, prompting reduced playing time. Turkish media speculated that he might join Wisła Kraków or lower‑division Corum FK, but Kocaelispor’s president Jarosław Królewski denied any such move to Wisła. The termination closes a turbulent episode that began when Linetty signed for Kocaelispor in the summer of 2025.

The club did not disclose further financial details, and Linetty’s next destination remains unconfirmed.
