Karol Nawrocki defends Polish agriculture at Jasna Góra festival

President Karol Nawrocki addressed farmers during the Jasna Góra harvest festival, emphasizing that agricultural security is essential for national sovereignty. He characterized farmers as the “guardians of Polish land” and cultural heritage.

Nawrocki criticized European Union policies, specifically the Green Deal and the trade agreement with Mercosur, suggesting he acted too late to block these developments. He expressed support for protecting the productive function of rural areas and noted his legislative initiative to extend the ban on selling Polish land by ten years.

Additionally, the President announced he has submitted two requests to the Senate to hold a referendum regarding the continuation of current climate policies. He also signaled ongoing political friction with the government, including potential confrontations regarding judicial appointments.
