Karol Nawrocki reveals his third name in new interview

In a recent interview for the book ‘Skąd wziął się Karol Nawrocki’ by Professor Andrzej Nowak, Polish President Karol Nawrocki revealed his third name, which he chose during his sacrament of confirmation.

While his official documents list Karol and Tadeusz—the latter named after his grandfather and the former after Pope John Paul II—his confirmation name is Josemaria. He selected this name in honor of Saint Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer, the Spanish priest and founder of Opus Dei.

Nawrocki clarified that he is not a member of Opus Dei and has never participated in the organization, noting its reputation as a radical Catholic group. Data from the Ministry of Digital Affairs indicates that the name Jose Maria is rare in Poland, with only 22 men registered under that specific spelling, while the variation Jose Mario is held by only four men.
