Karpacz Economic Forum opens to discuss new global order

The 35th Karpacz Economic Forum has commenced in Poland, running from September 8 to September 10. Under the theme ‘Architecture of a New Order – Stability in Times of Change’, the event serves as a major socio-economic platform for Central and Eastern Europe, gathering over 6,000 participants from approximately 60 countries.

The forum covers eight key thematic areas: AI, digitalization, healthcare, regional development, economy, international politics and security, society, and sustainable development. High-level attendees include Polish government officials such as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, and Minister of Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski.

Key activities include the presentation of the SGH and Economic Forum Report, which analyzes the economic state of Poland and Central and Eastern Europe. Additionally, the Polish Press Agency (PAP) is hosting debates on security and digital transformation, including a session on disinformation based on research from Jagiellonian University regarding cognitive security and information integrity.

Due to the large scale of the event, local police have implemented increased security measures in Karpacz, involving prevention, traffic, and counter-terrorism units to manage the influx of visitors and ensure public safety.
