Karpathos General Hospital inaugurates first CT scanner
The Karpathos General Hospital has inaugurated its first CT scanner, a development aimed at upgrading diagnostic services for the island. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis, representing Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and President of the Republic Konstantinos Tasoulas.
Following the installation and staff training completed in July, the hospital expects to begin operations shortly after finalizing a contract with a specialized radiologist.
In addition to the new scanner, a project to establish a Dialysis Unit is underway with a budget of approximately 620,000 euros. This facility, which includes a five-station hemodialysis area and isolation chambers, is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027.
