Kars Harakani Airport reports rising passenger and aircraft traffic

Kars Harakani Airport reported a significant increase in passenger and aircraft traffic during July 2026. Official records show a total of 58,142 passenger transactions across domestic and international flights during the month, with 316 aircraft movements and 567 tons of cargo transported.

For the first seven months of 2026, the airport served a total of 365,939 passengers, facilitated 2,205 aircraft movements, and handled 3,332 tons of cargo. This growth is attributed to several factors, including the launch of new routes such as the Kars–Baku service, increased summer seasonal demand for cultural and nature tourism, and expanded airline capacity.

The rising traffic is expected to impact the regional economy by increasing hotel occupancy rates, boosting local business revenue, and raising logistics demand.
