Kars officials initiate spiritual and environmental projects
In Kars, newly appointed Provincial Mufti Dr. Selami Aykul conducted his first official visit to the tomb of Ebû’l-Hasan Harakânî. During the visit, Aykul personally renewed the tomb's cover (sanduka örtüsü) and the ceremonial turban (destâr-ı şerif), emphasizing the importance of preserving the city's spiritual and cultural heritage.
Simultaneously, forestry officials in Kars are advancing plans to transform a central urban area into a 'Nation Forest' (Millet Ormanı). Erzurum Regional Forestry Director Serkan Karakurt inspected the site to evaluate its potential as a social recreation space for citizens. Additionally, officials reviewed existing afforestation sites in Cumhuriyet Village to ensure the healthy development and maintenance of local tree populations.
