Karsan signs contract with İETT for 150 ATAK vehicles

Karsan and İETT have signed a contract for the supply of 150 ATAK model vehicles to be used in Istanbul's public transportation fleet. The first deliveries are scheduled to begin at the end of January 2027.

The 8-meter long ATAK vehicles feature a passenger capacity of up to 56 people. Designed to handle Istanbul's challenging terrain, the vehicles include a 137 kW Euro 6 turbo diesel engine and are optimized for high climbing ability and maneuverability in narrow streets and heavy traffic.

To improve accessibility, the models are equipped with a low-entry structure, 'kneeling' functionality, and disabled ramps. Muzaffer Arpacıoğlu, Karsan's Assistant General Manager of Domestic Sales and Foreign Relations, stated that the project serves as a significant indicator of the company's product competence and experience in urban public transport.
