Karsten Warholm anticipates potential rivalry rematch with Rai Benjamin

Karsten Warholm believes he may soon face his rival Rai Benjamin in the 400 meter hurdles following Benjamin’s recent performance in Lausanne, Switzerland. Benjamin won the Lausanne race with a time of 46.67 seconds, marking his first hurdles race of the year after focusing on the flat 400 meters.

Warholm suggests that Benjamin’s appearance in Lausanne was likely a test ahead of the Ultimate Championship in Budapest this September. While Benjamin is currently competing in the flat 400 meters in Silesia, Poland, the possibility of a return to the hurdles remains a central question for the upcoming championship.

Warholm, who dominated the event between 2017 and 2023, is currently competing in Silesia against Alison dos Santos. Warholm has recently shown strong form, including a 46.63-second run and a European Championship gold in Birmingham.
