Karsten Warholm joins Norway's mixed 4x400m relay team

Norwegian athlete Karsten Warholm has been confirmed as part of Norway's first-ever mixed 4x400m relay team for the European Athletics Championships. The team will consist of Henriette Jæger, Andreas Ofstad Kulseng, Amalie Iuel, and Warholm.

Warholm admitted to applying pressure during the selection process, describing it as a "cynical top-tier sports mentality" to ensure the team has the highest probability of winning a medal. He emphasized that the goal is performance rather than mere participation, noting that an extra race early in the championship could impact athletes' stamina later on. Kulseng, who secured the second leg after winning national titles in both the 200m and 400m, stated that while the pressure was felt, he feels more confident in his relationship with Warholm following training sessions.

Separately, financial reports for Warholm's company, Sunn Vekst AS, show a decline in annual revenue. The company reported 13.5 million NOK in income for 2025, down from 17.4 million NOK in 2024. Despite this, the company remains profitable with a pre-tax result of 9.1 million NOK and total assets, including shares and bank deposits, valued at approximately 31 million NOK.
