Kartal Municipality faces tender scandal over missing magazine pages
An investigation into a Kartal Municipality tender for the procurement of various materials for announcing cultural activities has revealed several irregularities. The tender, which was awarded to a municipal company for 12,516,500 TL, saw a subsequent work increase of 19.30 percent, bringing the total value to approximately 15 million TL.
Key findings include the discovery that children's magazines were printed with at least 40 fewer pages than specified in the technical specifications. Additionally, while payments were made for distribution services, the files lacked documentation indicating the specific addresses where the publications were delivered. The tender was also noted to have resulted from a single bid, as only the municipal company downloaded the tender documents and no other firms submitted proposals.
