Kartik Research named guest designer for Pitti Immagine Uomo

Indian designer Kartik Kumra’s brand, Kartik Research, has been selected as the guest designer for the 111th edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo. The menswear event is scheduled to take place in Florence, Italy, from January 12 to 15, 2027.

As part of the program, Kumra will host a special event in Florence on January 13. Founded in New Delhi in 2021, Kartik Research focuses on artisanal craftsmanship, utilizing hand-loomed fabrics and manual embroidery. The brand draws inspiration from Indian subcultures, blending heritage with modern aesthetics.

Kumra has received significant industry recognition, including being named to the TIME 100 list, the BoF 500, and being a semi-finalist for the LVMH Prize in 2026. He noted that the opportunity is invaluable for an independent brand and expressed interest in exploring the historical textile connections between India and Florence.
