Karunagappally student found dead in backwaters after going missing

A 12-year-old Class 7 student, identified as Bilal, has been found dead in the backwaters of Karunagappally, Kollam. The boy had been reported missing after going out to play with friends on Saturday following an Independence Day parade at his school.

During the search, his bicycle, clothes, and slippers were discovered on a wall near the backwaters. A large-scale search operation involving the Fire and Rescue Services, NDRF, Karunagappally Police, and local residents was conducted. On Monday morning, the Fire and Rescue Services' scuba team recovered Bilal's body from under the Kothumukku bridge.
