Karya Farma HBX Academy launches fig and olive research project

Karya Farma HBX Ar-Ge Academy, operating within the Aydın Adnan Menderes University Teknokent, has announced the “Fig and Olive Research Innovative Products R&D Center” project. This initiative aims to analyze Aydın’s strategic products—figs and olives—using modern analytical methods.

The research will conduct detailed examinations of figs, fig leaves, olives, olive oil, and olive leaves, focusing on phenolic compounds, fatty acid profiles, vitamin and mineral content, fiber levels, antioxidant capacities, and bioavailability. Additionally, the project will compare how various harvest, drying, processing, and storage methods affect these natural components.

Founder Hakan Başlık noted that the study will investigate the biological value of these products at a molecular level. The academy aims to utilize 18 specific strategic patents to transform research data into innovative products and establish a regional scientific database to represent local values internationally.
