Karşıyaka Municipality hosts Alzheimer's awareness panel

Karşıyaka Municipality and the Izmir branch of the Turkish Alzheimer's Association organized a panel titled ‘Izmir is Putting Alzheimer’s on the Table’ to increase public awareness regarding the disease.

Held at the Bilge Çınarlar Healthy Aging Center in observance of World Alzheimer's Day, the event featured medical experts and psychologists. Discussions covered critical topics including early diagnosis and treatment, elderly health, caregiving processes, psychosocial support, and the legal challenges faced by patients and their relatives.

Karşıyaka Mayor Yıldız Ünsal emphasized the municipality's commitment to supporting public health and quality of life for the elderly, noting that the panel aims to strengthen social awareness and improve access to accurate information.
