Karşıyaka Municipality launches 5th Student Summer School

Karşıyaka Municipality has launched its 5th annual Student Summer School at the Bülent Ecevit Çarşı Culture Center. This year’s program, organized by the Urban Thought Center, is themed ‘From Sea to Neighborhood: Designing the Coastal City Identity of Karşıyaka.’

The initiative aims to provide students with interdisciplinary experiences to strengthen the unique identity of the city. During the opening ceremony, presentations were held regarding the ‘Open Air City Museum’ project and cultural routes, as well as the architectural and historical evolution of Karşıyaka as a coastal city.

Mayor Yıldız Ünsal emphasized the importance of youth perspectives in shaping the future of the city’s coastline, urban structure, and nature. She noted that the goal is to allow the city to develop while preserving its essential spirit and coastal identity.
