Karşıyaka Municipality opens Kent 95 Park for young children

Karşıyaka Municipality has opened the Kent 95 Park in the Yalı neighborhood, a new recreational space designed specifically for children aged 0 to 3. The project is part of the international ‘Kent 95’ program, which focuses on urban planning from the perspective of a three-year-old child with an average height of 95 centimeters.

Spanning 550 square meters, the park features various amenities including scooter and bicycle paths, a grass hill, climbing units, slides, a sandpit, interactive game boards, a playhouse, and stepping stones designed to help children develop balance and height perception. The facility also includes seating areas tailored for families.

During the opening ceremony, Karşıyaka Mayor Yıldız Ünsal emphasized that the park is a concrete example of the municipality’s child policy. She stated that the initiative aims to view urban elements like sidewalks, green spaces, and playgrounds through the eyes of young children to better support their early developmental years.
