Kasaragod: Two migrant workers killed as tractor overturns onto house

Two migrant workers died late Friday night in Kasaragod, Kerala, after a tractor equipped with a borewell drilling machine lost control on a slope and overturned onto a house in the Varakkad area of West Aleri.

The victims have been identified as Devendra from Madhya Pradesh and Mansar from Chhattisgarh. The accident occurred around 2:00 AM when the vehicle reportedly became uncontrollable while descending a slope. The heavy drilling machinery became lodged in the lower part of the house, preventing the vehicle from crashing further into the structure.

A family sleeping on the floor of the house narrowly escaped injury. The house, owned by Paul Francis, was being rented to a tenant named Jason. Local residents rushed to the scene and transported the injured workers to a hospital in Kanhangad, where they were pronounced dead. Police noted that previous accidents involving trucks and jeeps have occurred on this same stretch of road.
