Kaseya announces FIPS 140-3 cryptography for Datto RMM
At the Kaseya Connect Edge virtual innovation summit, Kaseya announced significant updates to its Datto RMM platform aimed at enhancing compliance and operational efficiency for managed service providers (MSPs).
A major highlight is the addition of FIPS 140-3 validated cryptography to Datto RMM, scheduled to be available at no additional cost starting in October 2026. This update utilizes a NIST-validated cryptographic module to help IT teams meet evolving regulatory requirements in highly regulated sectors such as government, healthcare, finance, and defense.
The new capability will cover core communication channels and can be managed via an account-wide toggle. Kaseya stated that the update is designed to provide independently certified assurance without compromising existing functionalities like patching, automation, monitoring, or remote control.
