Kashmir Marathon scheduled for October 25 in Srinagar

The third edition of the Kashmir Marathon is scheduled to take place in Srinagar on October 25. The event will feature both a full 42.19-kilometer marathon and a 21.09-kilometer half marathon. Officials report that 67 foreign nationals from 12 different countries have already registered to participate.

To support the event, authorities are organizing a three-day marathon expo at the Polo Ground in Srinagar. Preparations include the establishment of 17 aid stations along the route, the arrangement of medical camps, and coordination with traffic police to manage parking and vehicle movement. Local departments have been tasked with ensuring route cleanliness, repairing potholes, and maintaining sanitation around Dal Lake.

In a related effort to boost regional tourism, Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, has invited tourists from southern India to explore the Union Territory. Speaking at the Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) Hyderabad 2026, Wani emphasized the region's cultural heritage and adventure tourism potential. He called for stronger tourism ties with states such as Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to increase visitor numbers during the upcoming winter and spring seasons.
