Kasoa police investigate death of mobile money agent

Police in Ghana’s Central Region are investigating the death of Christian Nana Amponsah, a 36-year-old mobile money agent known as ‘Chapter 1’. Amponsah was found dead in a guest house in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of Kasoa.

Preliminary reports indicate the deceased sustained multiple knife wounds, and a piece of cloth was found covering his mouth. Investigators recovered approximately three knives from the scene. While the motive has not been officially established, reports suggest that the victim’s mobile phones were missing and money may have been stolen.

Amponsah was last seen leaving his shop on a Saturday afternoon in the company of a woman. He had reportedly told associates he would return shortly but failed to do so. The woman has become a person of interest in the preliminary investigation, though her involvement has not been confirmed. The Central East Regional Police Command is continuing its investigation to identify those responsible.
