Kasoa police investigate suspected murder and sexual assault of 28-year-old

Police in Ghana are investigating the death of 28-year-old Monica Mawuse Bosso, who was found dead at her family compound in Kasoa Peace Town. While the scene initially suggested suicide due to a rope tied around her neck and secured to a mango tree, investigators suspect the scene may have been staged to conceal a murder.

Preliminary findings by the Central East Regional Police Command indicate that Bosso may have been sexually assaulted. Crime scene experts reported finding her clothing torn and identified signs of forceful sexual penetration. Forensic teams have collected semen samples for analysis to determine the exact circumstances of her death.

In addition to the suspected assault and murder, authorities are examining a suspicious withdrawal of GH¢2,000 from Bosso’s Mobile Money account occurring around the time of the incident. The victim's family and local community leaders have called for a swift and thorough investigation to ensure justice is served and to address growing security concerns in the area.
