Kaspars Gorkšs identified as top candidate for State Chancellery Director

Kaspars Gorkšs, the Director General of the Latvian Confederation of Employers, has reportedly been identified as the top candidate for the position of Director of the State Chancellery. According to unofficial information reported by LETA and Latvian Television, Gorkšs emerged as the winner following the third and final round of the selection process.

The final round evaluated candidates on leadership competencies, including strategic vision, decision-making, responsibility, result orientation, change management, and team leadership. Other finalists in the process included Ieva Jaunzeme from the Central Finance and Contracts Agency and Agita Kalviņa, the director of the Public Administration School.

The successful candidate will be recommended to the Prime Minister for appointment by the Cabinet of Ministers for a five-year term. This marks the second recruitment attempt for the role in recent months, after the initial search in August failed to identify a suitable candidate. The monthly salary for the head of the State Chancellery is 7,255 euros before taxes.
