Kasper Schmeichel works as Uber driver after retirement

Former Danish international goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has revealed that he is currently working as a full-time Uber driver following his forced retirement from professional football. The 39-year-old, who won a Premier League title with Leicester City in the 2015/16 season, was compelled to end his career due to a severe shoulder injury.

Speaking at a meeting organized by the European Football Clubs (EFC), Schmeichel described the transition as a “strange” and unexpected challenge. In addition to driving, he is taking courses, working in television, and managing family responsibilities. He expressed a desire to return to the sport in a different capacity, such as a football coach or in another professional role, noting that he misses the competitive pressure and dopamine of professional play.
