Kaspersky reports 90% of European SMEs targeted by cyberattacks
A new global study by Kaspersky reveals that approximately 90% of surveyed small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Europe experienced at least one cyber incident within the last year. These incidents involve successful or attempted breaches that compromise the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of information systems.
The impact on these businesses includes deep operational disruptions, the theft of sensitive and critical data, significant financial losses, and irreparable reputational damage. Because SMEs often operate with limited dedicated IT resources, these attacks pose a severe threat to business continuity. The findings suggest that traditional security solutions are no longer sufficient against increasingly sophisticated and targeted modern attack vectors, making robust defense a critical component of business strategy for companies operating in Europe.
